Tacky: DIY inspiration board
Posted on: Friday, April 30, 2010
I love how simple this little project is and the final result looks fab. Something I can produce in under an hour (which is attention span these days). Interior designer Bryn Alexandra shows how to make it happen. Great for photographers, designers, or even brides who want a dedicated place to pin down their wedding ideas.

Hello Bridgette Bardot bangs...
Posted on: Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Going to Jaimie over at Creative Images today. She is the absolute BEST for color and she cuts a mean bang. Seriously, she gives a better cut and color than any trendy NYC stylist I've ever gone to and for like a 1/4 of the cost. And she is a total sweetheart. Saying bye bye to these "meh" bangs on the left. Besides, bangs cover up worry lines quite nicely.
Bloodsport for the Sunday New York Times...
Posted on: Sunday, April 18, 2010
I am happy to report that for all of us old schoolers that prefer an actual newspaper, there is finally a place to get the Sunday New York Times paper in Greenfield! Yay!
All of the places around here seem to only order two copies of it, so if you don't get up before 9:00, you're out of luck.
But now you can go and get a coffee along with a yummy blueberry muffin or olive oil crisp and pick one up at the Greenfield Coffee shop, located on the corner of Federal and Main.

Tiny Crush Society Pop Up Store + Sleepy Unicorn Freakout fashion show...

Glitter. Tulle. Unicorns.
What is going on? First a fancy new coffee shop, and now a fashion show...in Greenfield? I might like living here after all.
Just some photos I snapped outside the building after the show...these two ponies were my favorites. Thank you Dre Rawlings of Tiny Crush Society for a very entertaining evening. And thank you Katia for the heads up!
ps.
I wish I could get hold of one of those red hoodie / pocket dresses. They were killer.

Domino, I miss you so...
...but Lonny magazine is a close replacement. Close. They do a good job of listing their resources and have fun little projects anyone can do. There's a DIY on making a very pretty chandelier that would look great in a nursery.
The photography is OK but the styling is great. This cover shot irks me a bit...she should have been lying on the sofa or something...instead she looks uncomfortable on those hard tables and I can't stop looking at how she is curling her toes... Lonny, you should hire me. Really.

One of my most favorite blog reads ever....
Posted on: Saturday, April 10, 2010
That's not a mini pony. It's a dog....Have you read the Sweet Junpier blog? IT IS AMAZING. It is mainly written by a stay at home Dad and it's about his family's adventures living in Detroit (which is having hard times to say the least). But they do seem to make the best of it. He takes amazing photographs (this is one of them to the left), totally is an very entertaining writer, and I have to say he is just an amazing Dad period. His kids are also adorable!! I mean come on, who makes a dog cart for their kids after reading lots of Jack London??? It makes me think back to when I was 8 or 9 or so (maybe embarassingly older even), I'd harness my two little black labs Chessie and Buster to my skateboard, sit down, and go flying down the huge hill that we lived on, over and over again. I hope he doesn't mind if I borrow the dog cart idea for a kids photo shoot. Seriously good stuff. Go here for the full story...

Spring fever...

Hello world! I feel like a new person today now that I am almost done recovering from that awful head cold that was making the rounds at our house. It's beautiful weather, my son had a great day at preschool, my sweet peas are coming up, the magnolia tree out my window is in full bloom and it is just stunning to look at, lots of work coming in.....everything is just so good. I must pinch myself.
Braden and I are going to be taking the preschool portraits at my sons school. I can't wait!!! They kids there are really great (as well as the teachers). I have a couple of fun ideas in mind that I think will be fabulous. They have a stage I can use to do a set / sets on. More on that later...
The poster to the left is my first attempt at putting our business out there, getting to know some families, and hoping to generate some local buzz. Spring time photo shoots are my favorite for kids!
ps.
If the copy at the bottom is a little small to read, just click on the image and it will get bigger :)
