sarah and sean // full length // we shot our hearts out

Posted on: Sunday, February 26, 2012

Inspired by this couple and their fantastic friends and family, we shot the heck out of this wedding.  We shot until our fingers actually hurt and my eye started twitching.  When we finally left the wedding  I sank into the car in a happy, blurry daze, knowing we had done some really great work that day.   Sarah and Sean along with their friends and family welcomed us to come play with them and believe me, we did.  A retro hotel tucked away in hills of the sleepy, industrial town of North Adams, a woodland ceremony on family land, dinner plate dahlias in hues of peach, raspberry, and cream, wild daisies, Queen Anne's lace,  a secret meeting in a rustic fort, a wishing pond, and a surprise pop-up photo scape inspired by their family and friends...it was an epic storybook wedding to behold.
We have known them for over a year now, first shooting their engagement pictures, then their wedding,  and we have really enjoyed getting to know them and journey through some of the big moments with them.  Sarah comes from a family of four daughters and I LOVED getting to know her other sisters (and parents).  They are all pretty fabulous.  It was clear how much both their families and friends love them and how happy they were to see them marry.
It seems like only yesterday we were meeting with them for this time on our front porch, having drinks.  I remember being a bit mesmerized by Sarah's long blond hair and  big blue eyes playing off Sean's dark, sparkly eyes and easy smile as I sat and listened to their hopes and dreams, their migration across the country, and the story of how these high school friends came to be lovers. Please enjoy a few highlights from their day.
